Combat Ammunition System (CAS) is the authoritative system for Air Force (AF) combat ammunition. CAS is a singleintegrated,
web-based system operating on the Global Combat Support System-Air Force framework. It is an operational
AF combat mission support system providing global munitions-based situational awareness and response capability
information to mission planners and the warfighter. CAS provides visibility of location, configuration, and status of all
conventional munitions owned by or in the custody of the Unites States Air Force, in support of mission planning,
preparation, and execution. CAS provides an integrated web-based solution for munitions management, inventory,
accountability, and fiscal control. The management, production, pre-positioning, delivery, and maintenance of
munitions are key components of the United States' ability to project force and to protect the nation, its' citizens, its'
assets, and its' allies, at home and across the world. The CAS' continued evolution introduces leading edge technology,
establishing a state-of-the-art asset visibility/tracking system using Automatic Information Technology which will
increase operator efficiency, inventory, data accuracy, and advance munitions accountability; improves Major Command
and Headquarters Air Force, and Strategic level and Joint decision-making capability.
