Jataes <strong>Wedderburn</strong> [1490— 1544],- eldest son <strong>of</strong> Robert Wcdderburu and Janet<br />
Froster, was born probably about 1490, and is, I th<strong>in</strong>k, one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> two <strong>of</strong> his name who<br />
matriculated at S. Andrew's 1507-'J (S.A.ll. 5, 6).- He was admitted burgess <strong>of</strong> Duntlec <strong>in</strong><br />
1514 (D.L.B. 1), <strong>the</strong> note <strong>of</strong> liis admission be<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> earliest reference to tiie name <strong>in</strong> tlio<br />
" Lockit Bulk." There is a curious entry I 4 Dec. 15'20, record<strong>in</strong>i: a barga<strong>in</strong> between James<br />
