bold streak mixed with
neutrals like browns and
beiges. “It’s like that in
fashion where we see a
lot of neutrals with
splashes of color. The
monochromatic earth tone
color is slowly fading.
Fashion and interiors are
intertwined,” says
Jonathan.
“The trend now
is going back to what
looks natural, like
beautiful wood, natural
stone, rich silk, and
light velvets with a
sheer feel," he says.
Candles, a
common fixture in many
homes for many, many
years now, will always
be there according to
Jonathan. He says
“Every home should
always have them and
use them on a regular
basis. I personally like
tapered and tea
candles for my candelabras
at home."
YOUR STYLE, YOUR
PASSION
Then again,
Jonathan insists that
these trends that he
cites are just guides and
are simply secondary to
personal style or preference.
Ultimately, it is the
owner who will create
the over-all look of his
home. “It’s a matter of
style, needs, and tastes,”
says Jonathan. “Know
what you are inclined to
and then things will fall
into place.”
To cultivate style,
Jonathan suggests being
observant and being
open. “Reading helps a
lot to opening one’s eyes.
Think out of the box.
Eventually, your instinct
will guide you.”
When personal
taste becomes the
basis of what is beautiful
and stylish, there will
be no such thing as
ugly or unattractive.
“People have different
tastes,” says Jonathan.
“I think it’s unfair when
something is labeled
ugly. It would be more
appropriate to say that it
is not your taste. You
could say that you would
have done it in another
way. You could still take it
for its inherent style and
the process that went
through in putting
together the whole look.”

knowing what you want.
