Cerebos, Thailand Cerebos (Thailand) Ltd. Established 35 years ago, Cerebos (Thailand) Ltd is the manufacturer of BRAND’s Essence of Chicken Products in Thailand. Over the years, Cerebos (Thailand) has become one of the largest production and export centres in Asia under the trademark “BRAND’s Essence of Chicken”. Cerebos has expanded and relocated to a new warehouse in Laemchabang Industrial Estate at Chonburi province, as it is the ideal location for logistics and transportation to serve the future market. Project Cerebos (Thailand) had a bad experience with its former suppliers who designed their Drive-In Pallet Racking Systems. As the system was unable to cater for storage in the 3rd level, the forklift drivers are afraid of driving through the systems. Cerebos (Thailand) thus decided to introduce a new storage system for their operations, with safety being one of their major considerations. SSI Schaefer was invited to design a new warehouse storage system for Cerebos (Thailand). After carrying out a data analysis on their ordering and picking activities, the results shown was that Cerebos (Thailand) has only 40 SKUs of products. SSI Schaefer therefore proposed the Schaefer Orbiter System (SOS) which is of 5 pallets height, 28 pallets depth, holding a total of 5,040 pallet locations to accommodate their batch storage requirement. There were a total of 4 carts of SOS installed — the forklift drivers would pick up the pallets at the starting point, which minimises the risks of damaging the goods or crashing into the racking systems. In addition, incubation of sample products can now be stored in the safety zone. The Interlock Selective Pallet Racking System was also installed, with a total of 435 pallet locations to provide support for the quarantine zone. SSI Schaefer also designed and supplied mesh fences and sliding doors in order to ensure safety during operations. 3
