The high-performance material PE-RT,
that has been used successfully for
many years in heating and sanitary
pipes, is finding more and more fields
of application thanks to its outstanding
properties. The reason is the unique
molecular structure of these thermoplastic
polymers, from which HPG has
been making top-quality pipes for over
20 years.
>> Properties of Flexolen ®
The material Flexolen ® is a polyethylene
developed by HPG with an increased
temperature resistance of the type
PE-RT 63. Pipes of Flexolen ® display not
only an outstanding stability against

stress corrosion cracking and a very
good creep strength. They are also
characterised by an excellent flexibility
and are thus extremely easy to handle,
even at low temperatures. In addition,
Flexolen ® can be welded and is fully
recyclable as a thermoplastic polymer.
Flexolen ® was developed by HPG as
a pipe material especially for surface
heating systems.

With our many years of experience and
an extensive production know-how,
HPG has been a pioneer for PE-RT
pipes since its foundation. The resin
Flexolen ® was developed in our own
company and has led to a definition for
a new type of PE-RT following many
years of testing by an independent test
institute.

Flexolen ® pipes are particularly suitable
for floor and surface heating systems
and meet the requirements of ISO
10508 Class 4 (underfloor heating). Our
5-layer >MIDI< Soft pipes of Flexolen ®
provide diffusion barrier properties in
accordance with DIN 4726.

Flexolen ® pipes are particularly suitable

5-layer >MIDI< soft pipes of Flexolen ®
provide diffusion barrier properties in
accordance with DIN 4726.

For us it is a matter of course that our
products, production processes and
quality management system are regularly
audited by independent test
institutes. We provide security for you –
with a 10 year permanent insurance
cover and an additional 30 year manufacturer's
warranty. Current test symbols
and monitoring contracts for various
pipes of Flexolen ® can be found
in the latest version of our technical
manual.
>> We manufacture Flexolen ® pipes in
the diameter range 8 mm to 40 mm.
>> Individual wall thicknesses are
possible for every diameter.
>> Our pipes are available in bars, rolls
or on drums.

dimensional tolerances, imprint and

Long-term Behaviour
The stress-rupture test curve for
Flexolen ® shows the stability under
load of pipes made from this material
at different temperatures and pressure
loads. The comparative stress shown
here is independent of dimensions and
thus applies for all pipe sizes.
