Game Notes
• Union and Montreat met up earlier this season with Montreat winning 3-2 on Sept. 11 in
Barbourville. It was the first time, Montreat defeated Union in Robsion Arena. For more
on the match, click here.
• Since joining the AAC in 2002, Union is 23-6 all-time against Montreat, going 19-4 against
the Lady Cavaliers during the regular-season. However, the Lady Bulldogs have gone just
3-4 during the past two seasons with Montreat winning 4 of the last 5 meetings.
• Over the weekend, Union posted a pair of 3-0, AAC sweeps, defeating Truett-McConnell
25-8, 25-8, 25-12 and Reinhardt 25-21, 25-19, 26-24. The Bulldogs have won their last 4
matches and have won 11 of their last 12 matches.
• Paige Moore and Caity Merritt have both posted double-digit kills in 8 of the 18 matches
this season. The dynamic duo accomplished this feat a total of 9 times during the 2012
season. To no one’s surprise, Moore and Merritt lead the team in kills again this year at
197 and 193, respectively.
• For the third time this season, Ana Calaza was named the AAC Libero of the Week. Calaza
averaged 5.7 digs per set last week as Union went 3-0 in conference play. She had 57 total
digs in 10 sets. She ranks 24th in the NAIA in digs per set (5.15)
• Robsion Arena is usually a tough place for visitors to collect a victory. However, Union went
8-4 last season - the most home losses for the Lady Bulldogs since 2006 when they also
went 8-4. Since 2007 when it captured its first regular-season conference title, Union has
gone 68-14 at home. Union is 4-1 so far at home in 2013.
• Montreat ranks 30th nationally in blocks per set (2.15), 39th in digs per set (16.64) and 45th
in total blocks (157.0). Individually, Lauren Owen ranks 17th in blocks per set (1.170)

• Montreat enters the match on a 4-match win streak. The Lady Cavaliers have not lost since

injuries have forced the Bulldogs to
rely on Fields, who’s been more than
