Royalty News
Well, I have to say that so far this is one of the most fun summers that I can remember. I have had the
opportunity to do so many things… I have recently returned from a South Dakota trail riding vacation, have
represented the club at clinics and events, and I have been to many different shows doing games, pleasure and
best of all, Salute Rides! I am also anxiously looking forward to attending the World Equestrian Games in
Lexington, Kentucky at the end of September where I plan to represent the club there by wearing my hat,
crown and sash one day as well. Being able to represent SRSC as Queen this year has opened many
opportunities that I am so grateful for!
Our royalty as a team has done many things this year as well, with more to come. We had a great time
representing the club at the horse expo and were looking forward to riding on the royalty float during
Scandia’s Taco Daze Parade.
I know that each of us will be sad as our time to represent the club as Royalty comes to an end, but we are
excited to be ushering in our new Royalty for 2011. Our 2011 candidates are as follows: Queen- Bridget
Edgar and Lois Greiman, Junior Princess- Mikaela DelGiudice. Best of luck ladies- you will have a fun year
ahead of you!
Please take note of parking at SRSC
closed shows. We have limited space for
trailers. Do not park any cars in the
trailer area. Park them on the road or in
the area to the right of the driveway.
Be courteous of others and allow room
for horses to be tied to trailers.
We want to have safe shows for
everyone!
SRSC Closed Show Dates
July 11 – All Game Show
July 30 – Fun Show 7:00 pm
August 14 – All Pleasure Show
(Sept 4 – Add’t rain date)
All SRSC show bills are posted on line.
If you are receiving this newsletter via
snail mail all the shows are printed in
this newsletter. Please hang onto them
for the year. We will not be mailing out
anymore show bills but will have them
available at the monthly meetings.
~ Additional Closed Show Information ~
Proof of negative Coggins will be required again this year. Bring a photocopy of your coggins
paperwork to the show and we will keep it on file for you for the whole year. Alternatively you
can save time in advance by scanning and e-mailing a copy ahead of time to Bridget at
bridget@ourhobbyfarm.com or to Sarah at sarah.kilgriff@state.mn.us or bring a copy to a club
meeting. Planning ahead of time can help shows to run smoother!
Volunteer hours: We are asking that show volunteers sign up in advance for specific shifts to
help ensure that we have enough help. Remember, to be eligible for year end high point awards
each contestant over 18 needs to have 5 hours of documented volunteer time and each
contestant 13-17 needs 3 documented hours. Please help us to ensure that shows will be held
by signing up for a few hours. You can sign up at a club meeting, or by calling or e-mailing
Bridget or Sarah at the addresses above. Thank you for your help!

~ Meet Bridget Edgar ~
I have had horses most of my life thanks to my parents and now husband for letting me.
You will find me at horse events almost always with my Mom, Karen Siebenaler. I currently
have five horses that I keep at my house. Deuce my QH for attempting to pleasure show,
three miniatures for mini shows and a dwarf mini for fun. Showing minis are new to me as
well as driving but it’s just as fun if not more fun then showing big horses. Something you
might not know about me is I like running marathons, triathlons, keeping bees, growing
dinner plate dahlias, making wine… OK I like everything new I try so my husband has a ‘no
new hobby’ ban put on me.
We want to spotlight you…getting desperate since I have to spotlight myself….help
me out here!
Send a photo of you and your horse/s along with some notes about what you
love to do with your horse to bridget@ourhobbyfarm.com We will highlight a
new member each newsletter.
Congratulations to our Members on their recent accomplishments:
Pam Foshay on her high placings in two classes at the Sahara Sands Arabian show recently.
Laura Kemmis competed in the recent mounted patrol competitions in Wadena where she and
her teams placed second and fourth.
Several new members, Lois and Colleen, competed recently in the endurance ride at Sand
Dunes State Park, where both placed in the top 10.
If you have something exciting to share and horse related email bridget@ourhobbyfarm.com We would
love to hear what you are up to with your horses.
