R. P. Shastry, a journalist by profession, has written a number of<br />

illuminating essays on <strong>Madhusudan</strong> and Gopabandhu. He edits<br />

Orissa Times published from Cuttack.<br />

Sriram Chandra <strong>Das</strong>h, an eminest scholar and teacher of Political<br />

Science, was the first Professor and Head of that Department<br />

in Utkal University. After retirement from university services, he<br />

practised law and was a Senior Advocate of Orissa High Court.<br />

Sadananda Choudhury, was a professor of history and has retired<br />

from Utkal University. He has done commendable research<br />

on economic history of Orissa under colonial rule.<br />

Bimalkrishna Pal, was an Adovcate of Orissa High Court. He<br />

was a scholar with deep insight, which is reflected in his essays on<br />

socio-political issues.<br />

Surendra Nath Jena, one of the pioneers in the field of teaching<br />

of Commerce in Orissa, was a Professor in the Faculty of Commerce<br />

in Post Graduate Colleges of Orissa. He has written, both in<br />

English and Oriya, on wide-ranging subjects.<br />

A. K- Bdishra teaches History in Utkal University. He has written<br />

on economic nationalism and other related subjects.<br />

Acharya Bhabananda, (Formerly Bhabagrahi Misra) is a Gandhian<br />

Scholar. He is a well-known literary critic of Oriya literature and a<br />

folklorist of repute. He has also written extensively on a variety of<br />

subjects, with a number books to his credit.<br />

Raghunath <strong>Das</strong>, a marxist thinker and a poet of progressive school,<br />

was a lawyer by profession. His poems and essays are marked for<br />

their originiality and clarity.<br />

Prabodh Kumar Mishra is a reputed scholar of Orissan history,<br />

both ancient and modern. After his retirement as Professor of History,<br />

he was the Vice-chancellor, North Orissa University. He was<br />

co-editor of <strong>Madhusudan</strong> <strong>Das</strong> - The Legislator with N.K. Sahoo.
