Bodhram Dube, a keen student and a zealous patriot, was a lawyer<br />

of Sambalpur. He was a congress leader of repute from the<br />

Western Orissa and was Minister of Local Self-Government and<br />

Education in the cabinet of Biswanath <strong>Das</strong>.<br />

Biswanath <strong>Das</strong> was one of the the ablest politicians and administrators<br />

of Orissa. Hailing from a landowners family of Ganjam district,<br />

he fought for the rights of the tenants and ryots. Before formation<br />

of the Orissa province, he represented Ganjam in Madras<br />

Legislative Council for three consecutive terms. He was the first<br />

Premier of Orissa from Congress Party.<br />

Abdul Karim started his career in the Education Department and<br />

became an Inspector of Schools. Later on he became a member<br />

of Bengal Legislative Council.<br />

Mukunda Prasad <strong>Das</strong> was a congress leader of Balasore district.<br />

He was a member Orissa Legislative Assembly and was its first<br />

elected Speaker.<br />

B. K. Gokhale was an Indian Civil Service officer, who during his<br />

posting at Cuttack/Khurda came in contact with <strong>Madhusudan</strong>.<br />

S. Lall, an I.C.S. Officer who came in close contact with<br />

<strong>Madhusudan</strong> while serving in different positions.<br />

B. C. Mukherji, an I.C.S. Officer, was elevated to the rank Chief<br />

Secretary. As the Colletor of Cuttack, he took pains to organise<br />

the grand funeral of <strong>Madhusudan</strong>.<br />

P. C. Ray Chaudhury was son of Khirod Chandra Ray Choudhury<br />

of Cuttack. K. C. Ray Chaudhury was the founder editor pf Star of<br />

Utkal to which <strong>Madhusudan</strong> was a regualr contributor. P. C. Ray<br />

Choudhury after obtaining post-graduate and law degrees, joined<br />

Bihar and Orissa government service as a Deputy Magistrate. Later<br />

on he became the Editor of Gazetteers of Bihar.<br />

Srikrishna Mahapatra, popularly known as Dewan Bahadur, was<br />

a police officer who retired as a Superintendent of Police. Later on<br />

he became the Chairman of Cuttack Municipality and a member of<br />

Central Legislative Assembly. He was an ardent supporter of British<br />

imperialism.<br />

Bawa Kartar Singh, an Indian Education Service Officer and<br />

educationist of high order, was Professor in Science College, Patna.<br />

He was also a Principal of Ravenshaw College, Cuttack.
