Come and find out what all the
excitement is about! With more than
350 participants attending last year,
this will be the biggest camp to date
with some new facilitators and exciting
new initiatives!
Recreational activities are organized
every afternoon and include sailing,
swimming, canoeing, bike riding,
abseiling, ropes courses, basketball and
soccer - all supervised by Department of
Sport and Recreation staff.

Why Should I Go?
SYA Summer Camp is a fantastic
opportunity to understand and learn
more about Sikhism; develop self
esteem; meet other proud Australian
Sikhs; participate in interactive and nonjudgmental
debates, discussion groups,
Kirtan, yoga, sports and adventurous
activities. And most of all have fun!
In 2011 we will be building on our
strengths from past years as well
as introducing some new exciting
activities including:
• Special programs for the young Mighty
Khalsas and Bahadur Bachey groups
• Exciting interactive sessions on Sikh
history
• Lessons on turban tying, kirtan & tabla
You don’t want to miss out on this!
… and it’s not an
endless Gurdwara
session!
All programs are delivered in an
interactive, FUN and relaxed learning
environment with English as the primary
medium. It is a camp where you can make
new friends whilst immersing yourself
in the knowledge and understanding of
Sikhism and grow spiritually.
Who Should Attend?
Sikhs of all ages - including parents,
grandparents and families - are most
welcome. All participants, including
parents, will be divided into age groups
so you can meet other Sikh youths your
own age. Those participants aged below
12 years will need to be accompanied by
a parent.
Strict supervision of participants will be
maintained at all times. There will be
separate modern, dormitory style lodges
for males and females.
