a. Non-killing<br />

b. Non-stealing<br />

c. Non-adultery<br />

d. Non-lying<br />

e. Non-duplicity<br />

f. Non-coarseness in language<br />

g. Non-use of filthy language<br />

h. Non-covetousness<br />

i. Non-hatred<br />

j. Non-ignorance.<br />

The Buddha said:<br />

There is one way for the bodhisattva to annihilate all<br />

sufferings of evil existence. It is this: day <strong>and</strong> night,<br />

constantly remember the good dharmas, think about<br />

them, <strong>and</strong> observe them, so that their impression<br />

becomes stronger <strong>and</strong> stronger in the mind <strong>and</strong> not the<br />

least evil has a chance of mingling therein. Such a<br />

practice will enable one to free oneself forever from evil<br />

deeds, to complete the work of good dharmas, <strong>and</strong><br />

frequently to have opportunities to be in the presence of<br />

Buddhas.<br />
