The name "evolutional yoga" itself is another title for<br />

the first stage of the transformation of the Buddha-body.<br />

Here by "body" is meant the psycho-physical,<br />

anthropomorphic body inseparable from the mind of<br />

sunyata-samadhi. For example, shame is mental, but the<br />

blood-flow which reddens the face <strong>and</strong> the st<strong>and</strong>ing-up<br />

of the hair are both physical. Although visualization is a<br />

mental practice, the vision of the form appears to be<br />

seen vividly in a physical manner.<br />

This practice is divided into three conditions: clarity,<br />

firmness, <strong>and</strong> the Holy Pride of Buddhahood. In this<br />

evolutional yoga, the mantras, yantras, <strong>and</strong> mudras<br />

contained in the final stages of visualization of the<br />

Buddha-body are not stressed, <strong>and</strong> instead realization of<br />

the three conditions is considered more important.<br />

1. Clarity<br />

All the hair on the entire body, including the eyebrows,<br />

eyelashes, <strong>and</strong> so on, should be clearly visualized in the<br />

nature of sunyata. Outwardly, the hair becomes like a<br />

reflection in the mirror, but inside it is seen as quite<br />

empty, like a bubble. All parts of the body should be<br />

visualized in the same manner.<br />

2. Firmness<br />

After clarity is accomplished, the clear appearance must<br />
