c. Because of sublimation in sunyata, the poisons have<br />

become "Great." While the latter are in the consequence<br />

position, still they have some affinity with human<br />

poisons.<br />

d. One who practices these doctrines has passed through<br />

sublimation by sunyata <strong>and</strong> transmuted the condition of<br />

sunyata into bodhicitta. Such a yogi wishes to increase<br />

his power to save others, <strong>and</strong> as his bodhicitta becomes<br />

great, thus connecting him with the wisdom-heart of<br />

others, so these Poisons have in him also become<br />

"Great."<br />

e. The methods of the Vajrayana are in the position of<br />

consequence of Buddhahood <strong>and</strong> are therefore Great<br />

Methods; so the poisons are "Great."<br />

These points above all refer to our philosophy; now we<br />

should talk about the poisons separately <strong>and</strong> from the<br />

point of view of practice.<br />

1. Great Lust<br />

a. Why is it so called? The pleasure arising from the<br />

identification of the four blisses <strong>and</strong> the four voidnesses<br />

is sixteenfold, compared with that of ordinary sexual<br />

intercourse, so this is proof that it is "Great."<br />

b. All Great Lust is well-accompanied by the four<br />

sunyatas, so it is "Great." Such things are never heard of<br />
