In this meditation, the most essential thing is the<br />

identification of pleasure <strong>and</strong> sunyata, <strong>and</strong> there is a<br />

most necessary warning which must indeed be heeded:<br />

If one has no attainment in the sunyata meditation, then<br />

one must not try to practice the third initiation methods.<br />

Padmasambhava said: "My secret path is very<br />

dangerous; it is just like a snake in the bamboo, which,<br />

if it moves, must either go up or come down." There is<br />

no middle way here, either by this method one gains<br />

Full Enlightenment or else one falls straight into hell.<br />

2. On Vajrayana Precepts:<br />

"During the last few nights, said Mr. Chen, "I have<br />

had some special instructions in my dreams. My<br />

guru the Karmapa Rinpoche appeared, his room<br />

very full of fruits <strong>and</strong> flowers, some of which I<br />

offered him. Very clearly he said to me: 'You should<br />

present the Tantric precepts as they are explained in<br />

your book, not in the usual way of instruction in<br />

Tibet.'" (See Chenian Booklets Nos. 45-47.)<br />

Mr. Chen produced a h<strong>and</strong>some silk-covered<br />

Chinese work, saying, "This is my book—the one the<br />

Karmapa Rinpoche referred to. In it, all the<br />

precepts of the Hinayana, Mahayana <strong>and</strong> Vajrayana<br />

on the subject of lust <strong>and</strong> love are collected <strong>and</strong><br />

classified. This subject has never been discussed by<br />
