iv.Citta of samadhi—corresponds to the svabhavikakaya<br />

(found in yogatantra)<br />

v.Citta of the essence of the six elements—corresponds<br />

to the mahasukhaprajnakaya (found only in<br />

anuttarayoga)<br />

The last is found only in the highest yoga <strong>and</strong> is unheard<br />

of in the Eastern tradition. In it the five elements <strong>and</strong><br />

five wisdoms are well identified, just as the sperm <strong>and</strong><br />

the ovum unite <strong>and</strong> interpenetrate.<br />

"Even in Tibet," said Mr. Chen, "all five bodhicittas<br />

are never mentioned all together, but I have<br />

collected them <strong>and</strong> find that they correspond to the<br />

five bodies of a Buddha."<br />

2. Three Important Conditions<br />

After one receives the anuttarayoga first initiation, one<br />

should practice the growing stage (utpannakrama) of the<br />

samaya body (see Appendix I, Part Two, C, 6). We<br />

should give some definition of this term.<br />

There are, altogether, three kinds of body of which<br />

samaya is the gross one. A samayasattva (in Tibetan,<br />

literally "oath-bound" natural holiness), is that<br />

anthropomorphic form of a Buddha or bodhisattva on<br />

which the meditator regularly practices over a long<br />

period of time, until he realizes unity with that<br />
