detail, so that sunyata is realized in every part of the<br />

body. All parts of the body have meditations upon them:<br />

the eyeball, for instance, is sunyata, <strong>and</strong> even inside one<br />

tiny body-hair, the void nature is to be clearly seen.<br />

Sunyata is the Buddha-nature, so if anything remains in<br />

which sunyata is not seen, then one has not the<br />

Buddha-body.<br />

Then with great emphasis, Mr. Chen said:<br />

If one has not passed through the sublimation-stage of<br />

sunyata meditations in the Mahayana, then Vajrayana<br />

visualizations become just like magic of delusory nature,<br />

<strong>and</strong> certainly one does not possess that which is quite<br />

devoid of delusion, a Buddha-body.<br />

The process with the other three meditations is similar<br />

<strong>and</strong> the remarks made on the body's successive<br />

transmutations apply also to them. As we will have a<br />

chance to talk about them in the Vajrayana chapters,<br />

there is no need to dwell upon them here.<br />
