The group has up to 15 textile mills in its fold but none listed on the stock exchange. According to press reports and interviews of the Monnoo family members, total assets of the main Monnoo group are valued at Rs 3 billion. The present day Monnoo dynasty was founded by two Monnoo brothers namely Dost Mohammad Monnoo and Nazir Hussain Monnoo who migrated to Calcutta in the 1940s where they set up Olympia Rubber works. At the time of independence the rubber works was exchange with a textile mill owned by a Hindu in Nabiganj, Dhaka. The new factory was christened as Olympia Textile Mills.
