Use Shelving to Back Up Pending Changes to the Server Use shelving if you have not completed work at the end of the day but want to ensure that your current work is backed up on the server. By shelving your current changes, the changes are applied to the TFS server and can be retrieved by you (or others) the next day. At this point, you need to go back to a stable version of the code but you do not want to lose your changes. Before doing so, you can shelve your code and easily retrieve it later.
