Only through this, their immobile flight, do I notice, that their beauty
once insignificant or unnoticed
thrashes wildly in the room, sparking passion,
emotion
love for what's lost, because I didn't see my love
until it flew inert.
Poem
He‟s standing there
in front of
beautiful sandy beaches
surrounded
by yellow sea
red sun
green hills
black rocks
blue sky
brown trees
orange leaves
He‟s standing there
tastes his salty lips
feels his shivering hands
smiling
like he‟s in love
with this beauty
with this country
with this life
with himself
He‟s standing there
feeling
his first autumn morning
in Australia
the land down under
he‟s me
Judge’s Comment
