Law 1 – The Field of Play<br />
Dimensions: The field of play must be rectangular. The length of the touchline must be greater than the length of<br />
the goal line.<br />
Length: 60 yards<br />
Width: 30 yards<br />
Field Markings: Distinctive lines not more than (5) inches wide. The field of play is divided into two halves by a<br />
halfway line. The center mark is indicated at the midpoint of the halfway line. A circle with a radius of four (4) yards<br />
is marked around it.<br />
The Goal Area: 5 yards deep by 16 yards wide<br />
The Penalty Area: 10 yards deep by 26 yards wide<br />
Goals: 6’6” x 18<br />
Law 2 – The Ball<br />
Size four (4).<br />
Law 3 – The Number of Players<br />
A match is played by two teams, each consisting of not more than seven players total. There will be a goalkeeper.<br />
Substitutions: At any stoppage of play and unlimited.<br />
Playing time: Each player SHALL play a minimum of 50% of the total playing time.<br />
Teams and matches may be coed.<br />
MAXIMUM ROSTER SIZE IS 12<br />
Law 4 – The Players’ Equipment<br />
Players shall wear a YMCA provided uniform as well as shin guards. Non-uniform clothing is allowed based on<br />
weather conditions, but uniforms must still distinguish teams.<br />
Law 5 – The Referee<br />
An OFFICIAL will be used. All infringements shall be briefly explained to the offending player.<br />
Law 6 – The Assistant Referees<br />
An Assistant Referee will only be used in the playoffs.<br />
Law 7 – The Duration of the Match<br />
The match shall be divided into two (2) equal, twenty (20) minute halves. There shall be a half-time interval of five<br />
(5) minutes. No timeouts shall be granted (FIFA rules).<br />

Law 8 – The Start and Restart of Play<br />
Conform to FIFA, with the exception of the opponents of the team taking the kick-off are at least four (4) yards<br />
from the ball until it is in play.<br />
Law 9 – The Ball In and Out of Play<br />
Conform to FIFA.<br />
Law 10 – The Method of Scoring<br />
Conform to FIFA.<br />
Law 11 – Offside<br />
None.<br />
Law 12 – Fouls and Misconduct<br />
Conform to FIFA with the exception that all fouls shall result in a direct free kick. The referee/coach/parent must<br />
explain ALL infringements to the offending player. No cards shown for misconduct.<br />
Law 13 – Free Kicks<br />
Conform to FIFA with the exceptions that all kicks are direct and all opponents are at least four (4) yards from the<br />
ball until it is in play.<br />
Law 14 – The Penalty Kick<br />
None.<br />
Law 15 – Throw ins.<br />
Conform to FIFA with the exception that an improperly performed throw-in can be retaken once.<br />
Law 16 – The Goal Kick<br />
Conform to FIFA with the exceptions that all kicks are direct and all opponents are at least four (4) yards from the<br />
ball until it is in play.<br />
Law 17 – The Corner Kick<br />
Conform to FIFA with the exception that opponents remain at least four (4) yards from the ball until it is in play.<br />
Extra Time Procedures<br />
During the regular season, if a game is tied, it shall be declared a tie. In the postseason, extra time will consist of<br />
two (2) equal halves of (5) minutes. Teams will switch sides after the first extra time session. Whoever is leading<br />
after both extra time sessions have finished shall be declared the winner. If the game is still tied, a penalty kick<br />
shootout will break the tie. The shootout is best of five, alternating kicks. Teams must alternate boy-girls kickers.<br />
The goalkeeper is allowed to take a penalty kick. No rebound shots shall be allowed. If the score is tied after the<br />
best of five, sudden death shall take place with each team getting one more penalty kick until a winner is declared.<br />
Boy-girl alternation shall carry over into sudden death and no player may shoot twice before everyone on their team<br />
has shot at least once.<br />

POST GAME ACTIVITIES<br />
At the conclusion of every game, both teams shall line up at the center of the field for a congratulatory handshake.<br />
PRE GAME PRAYER<br />
Win or Lose,<br />
I pledge before God to do the best I can,<br />
To be a team player;<br />
And to respect my teammates, my coaches, and officials;<br />
To improve myself in spirit, mind, and body.<br />
Amen<br />
RAIN POLICY<br />
Practices will be held if the if the YMCA deems that the field conditions are satisfactory. If a practice is to be<br />
cancelled the YMCA will post the cancellation on their website by 4:30pm. Practices that are cancelled will not be<br />
made up.<br />
Games will be played unless field conditions are unsuitable. If a game is to be cancelled, the YMCA will post the<br />
cancellation on their website. Games that are cancelled will be rescheduled and posted on the YMCA website.<br />
*Please note that practices and games may be cancelled on short notice due to severe weather.<br />
In case of bad weather during a game in which the YMCA staff or coach calls a stoppage of play, the game will be<br />
suspended and rescheduled on another date unless the first half is already completed. If the first half is completed<br />
at the time of the stoppage of play, it will stand as a completed game. If the first half is not complete, the time left<br />
in the game and where and who had possession of the ball at the time of the suspended play shall be recorded. Play<br />
shall pick up from that time and spot of possession at the rescheduled time of the game. In the post season, if<br />
teams are tied in the second half and play is suspended, the time left in the game and where and who had<br />
possession of the ball at the time of the suspended play shall be recorded. Play shall pick up from that time and<br />
spot of possession at the rescheduled time of the game. In the regular season, the game shall be declared a tie.<br />
*YMCA field supervisor will notify teams with three whistle burst or air horn blast when practices or games have<br />
been cancelled. Once this happens, please exit the field immediately.<br />
SPECTATOR CONDUCT<br />
Positive team support is encouraged. Offensive language or behavior will not be tolerated. Each coach is<br />
responsible for the conduct of all persons on his/her team or supporting his/her team. Spectators should remain at<br />
least 3 feet away from the touch lines. Fans are encouraged to cheer, encourage, and support both teams. They<br />
are expected to be courteous and set a good example for the players.<br />
