It was a promising year for first grade, throughout the season the team played superably and
with great authority and poise.

To have scored 165 goals for and 41 against reflects the level of dominance in attack and
defence, the team possessed the ability to convert opportunities, all the main forwards scoring in
double figures and the precision passing and support play of James Benson , Adam Howard
and Alistair Cullen ,Shane Nilan ,Darryn Booth and Matt Wark initiated many attacking raids.
To play with such authority not so much because of the scoreboard but in general play and the
ability to have a good tempo and intensity throughout our games enabled us to wear teams
down, and to capitalise on this with our skills and team combinations, it was a disappointing end
to an outstanding and consistent season.
Our run into the semi-final’s was excellent, the last 6 rounds were all challenging games and our
form was good, and although we had regular disruptions to the team, with injury or unavailability
this turned out to be a positive as our replacements never let us down and would easily play 1 st
grade any where else.
Although this was to the detriment of 2 nd grades season.
