the Master Plan Council Officers will submit a funding bid for inclusion in the Council’s 2008/09 budget allocations. Until Council completes the Perry Park Master Plan the Glebe part of the Turf Committee comprising of Craig Bagley, Rodney Hammett, Jim Oman and Les Wark will be having a quiet Christmas… The Club would like to thank these members as these people are the quite achievers, the back room boys so to speak who are the driving force behind GDHC’s dream of a Turf field. Social Organiser 2007 has been good year for the Glebe District Hockey Club with some new projects and enterprises undertaken by the club which have proven to be hugely successful. This being my first year on the committee it was a bit of a learning curve but one that I enjoyed and I hope to continue on as social officer next year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped me throughout the year with organising events and helping set-up and run the events themselves. First of all I would to thank my parents who were a big help throughout the year in all ways possible. Secondly I would like to thank Andrew Goodrick, Mark Noller and all those who helped out in organising the Band Night down at the Clubhouse which proved to be a huge success and especially to Cristian Campano for organising all the bands to play at the clubhouse for free which hopefully will become a regular event throughout the years. A big thankyou must also go out to Louise Tapsell and Amy Wark for the help in organising the Pub Crawl T-shirts and the night itself, I can not thank Louise enough for the work she put in to organising the Pub Crawl. Also to Bob Taylor for his enormous help with the Presentation night this year and without his help it would have been a much more difficult job for myself and also a big thankyou to Helen Howe who was great help in liaising with the women’s and helping throughout the year. And at last but not least a big thanks to all those who helped throughout the year with little jobs on the night or day of events themselves and I am sorry if I missed out anyone but I thank everyone who has assisted me throughout the year. As social officer this year it was great to see people getting back down to our traditional home under the arches and having some really big nights down there. I hope that next year this will continue and we can plan some really enjoyable nights at No. 3 Railway Arch Glebe especially since all the money spent down there goes to club, so if you are going to spend money somewhere at least spend it at the Clubhouse. So I hope everyone has enjoyable off-season and comes back ready to play harder and stronger than the previous year and as always ready to party just as hard, because if there is one thing Glebe does better than playing hockey its celebrating.
