Men’s Lower Grades Captain’s Report
Firstly, I would like to thank Danny O’Brien for the help he has given me throughout the year.
Danny has been a great help not only to myself but to the Club as a whole, I feel that he is an
asset to the Club.
Secondly Congratulations to 4 th Grade for making the Grand Final and to 6 th Grade for making
the Semi Finals. Once again it was a tough year to select the teams as many players were
unfortunately non committal to the Club and their teams (letting down their team mates). In my
opinion I felt that all four teams should have made the finals but due to lack of commitment by
players this did not occur. It was most disappointing due to knowing that we had very good
players in the bottom four grades.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Captains of the teams for making my job
each week a lot easier. This was done by the open communication and early notice of changes
within their teams. It is promising to see so many young juniors coming through the ranks with
humble attitudes and no egos. The juniors seem to be hungry for any type of help whether it is in
the form of information, training, and knowledge of the game that will give them the edge over
other competitors.
In closing it is good to know that the Club will remain competitive due to the juniors that are
coming through into the senior ranks and the quality of coaches, which pass on their technical
skills to the young.
