pain- the pain caused due to India's hockey's worst ever showing at the
Doha Asian game. The former hockey legends carrying placards seeked
the ouster of IHF Chief KPS Gill & demanded that IHF should be taken
over by Indian Olympic Association. They said that the India's glorious
past is being tarnished.... "KPS Gill, there is nothing more to kill......" and

become a big problem for Indo-Pak unless the federations take
immediate measures like introducing central contracts for the top
players like in cricket. Butt says there is no point in appointing foreign
coaches for senior teams. "The players already have set habits &
patterns of play which can't be changed. But the juniors can be molded
as per the European system & the results will come when they join the
senior team", bringing back the glorious past & defending the pride of
the national game.

football captain said his FIFA World
Player of the Year Award would answer
critics who complained he shouldn't
have been voted Europe's best player
recently. Cannavaro received 498 points
from International Coaches and
Captains when the FIFA award was
announced, relegating Zinedine Zidane
& Ronaldinho into second and third
place. Cannavaro, the first defender to
win this award since its inception in
1991-said his prize would encourage
other defenders. Now every defender
can aspire to win an award like this one
as only forwards and mid-fielders had
won it up to now. He said that he didn't
feel as "the best player in the world",
rather as one who played well in 2006,
particularly for winning the World Cup,
playing really well in Germany.
