MAINTENANCE SAFETY<br />
• Detail of work completed.<br />
• Date and who completed work.<br />
• Maintenance/repair record for each piece of equipment or equipment.<br />
f. <strong>Safety</strong> procedures and hot work permit system whenever hot work is performed in any area not<br />
specifically designated for that operation and free of flammables and combustibles. <strong>The</strong> hot<br />
work permit must include:<br />
• Location and nature of hot work.<br />
• Time and duration of work.<br />
• Precautions to be taken before work starts, during and after completion of the work.<br />
• Supervisor and individual conducting work.<br />
• Personal protective equipment required.<br />
• Fire fighting equipment requirements.<br />
• List of authorized persons who can sign the permit.<br />
3. TRAINING—<br />
Maintenance employees: must receive training which includes at a minimum:<br />
• Specific requirements of the maintenance safety program.<br />
• Use, storage and maintenance of tools.<br />
• Preventative maintenance requirements of equipment and tools.<br />
Hot Work Authorized employees: must receive annual training which includes at a minimum:<br />
• Hot work permit system and procedure.<br />
• Use of equipment (including fire fighting equipment).<br />
4. DOCUMENTATION<br />
Training Records: Each facility must maintain training records for a minimum of 3 years.<br />
Other Records:<br />
a. Current risk assessments.<br />
b. Preventative maintenance records for a minimum of 3 years.<br />
c. Repair records for the life of the equipment.<br />
d. Hot work permits for a minimum of 3 years.<br />
