2. <strong>Northwest</strong> <strong>Food</strong> <strong>Processors</strong> Cluster Initiative: Between 2002 and 2006 NWFPA conducted an industry-wide<br />

strategic assessment called the <strong>Northwest</strong> <strong>Food</strong> <strong>Processors</strong> Cluster Initiative. The strategic priorities<br />

Energy<br />

1. NWFPA is recognized nationally for its energy efficiency programs. Last February NWFPA signed a<br />

Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. Department of Energy with a commitment to reduce<br />

energy consumption by 25 percent over the next 10 years. Would you agree that identifying energy<br />

metering and efficiency technologies and procedures should be a priority for NWFPA to be made<br />

Last December, the NW <strong>Food</strong> <strong>Processors</strong> Education & Research Institute received approval by the<br />

Internal Revenue Service for not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) tax exempt status. This important designation<br />
