- a copy of the relevant agreement written in English<br />

- evidence that you meet the terms and conditions of the relevant agreement and<br />

that your stay in Australia has been agreed to by both the <strong>Australian</strong> and foreign<br />

signatories to the agreement<br />

- if the foreign signatory is not at the national government level of the relevant<br />

foreign country, provide a letter from the national government confirming its<br />

support for your stay in Australia<br />

- that you have complied with all necessary licensing or registration requirements<br />

associated with your employment or engagement.<br />

Foreign Government Agency stream - supporting documents (you must meet the<br />

requirements of one stream)<br />

- a copy of the letter of support from your foreign government ministry or agency,<br />

- a copy of the letter of support from the <strong>Australian</strong> school (foreign language<br />

teachers only)<br />

- a statement as evidence that your employment in Australia would be of benefit to<br />

Australia. This statement can form part of the statement of support provided by<br />

the relevant Foreign Ministry or foreign government agency.<br />

Domestic <strong>Work</strong>er (Diplomatic or Consular) stream - supporting documents (you<br />

must meet the requirements of one stream)<br />

- evidence of support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).<br />

- a signed declaration by your employer. See: Employer’s Declaration (97KB<br />

Word file)<br />

- a signed declaration by you. See: Employee’s Declaration (97KB Word file)<br />

Privileges and Immunities stream supporting documents (you must meet the<br />

requirements of one stream)<br />

- evidence of support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).<br />

Secondary Applicants – additional supporting documents<br />

- If you are a secondary applicant of a person who is satisfying the primary<br />

criteria of the Government Agreement stream, the relevant agreement must<br />

allow for family members to enter Australia and the <strong>Australian</strong> signatory is<br />

required to agree to your stay in Australia. If the relevant agreement contains<br />

terms and conditions that apply to a family member, the family member must<br />

meet the requirements of the terms and conditions.<br />

- Note: the Domestic <strong>Work</strong>er stream does not permit secondary applicants.<br />

DFAT subsidised student or recipient<br />

Currently a DFAT (or previously an AusAID) subsidised student – a copy of the<br />

letter of support from DFAT<br />

Financial support<br />

Evidence of your financial capacity to support yourself and all accompanying<br />

secondary applicants during your stay in Australia. Evidence may include:<br />

• bank statements<br />

• a letter from your financial institution stating your financial position.<br />

• Note: Evidence of financial assistance from your employer or a third party<br />

such as allowances, accommodation, and stipends while you are in Australia<br />

may be considered when evaluating your ability to support yourself and your<br />

dependants.
