Certificated Employee-of-the-Year Nominations
2011 - 2012
The Employee-of-the-Year Committee would like to honor all those within our educational
community who contribute in special ways to the welfare and education of our students.
Torrance Unified School District will be recognizing five certificated employees this year. A
selection committee has been formed to oversee the process and selection of the certificated
recipients.
The five certificated Employees-of-the-Year will include one exemplary teacher from
elementary, middle and high school, one adult school teacher, and one teacher from the
district support staff. District support could include counselors, psychologists, resource
teachers, librarians, program specialists, speech/language pathologists, nurses, or any
certificated staff member that does not have a classroom assignment. The committee will also
select one teacher to represent TUSD in the Los Angeles County Teachers of the Year Program
competition.
We have many excellent employees who deserve to be recognized. Please take the time from
your busy schedule to praise a colleague for a job well done. The attached form should be
completed as fully as possible. The selection committee relies on the information you provide
to make their decision. Letters of support are important to this process as they substantiate
the nominee’s qualifications and provide further information about the nominees.
The nomination packet should be submitted to my office no later than May 13th.
