Socio Economic Environment: In general, the proposed Complex will have a positive impact on the socioeconomic environment. It will have a long-term positive impact on the socioeconomic environment and it will increase the over all value of the surrounding area. 7. ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN 7.1 Introduction This section outlines the key environmental management and safeguards that will be initiated by the project proponent to manage the project’s key environmental concerns. Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is the mechanism to ensure that environmental considerations are integrated into the project survey and design, contract documents and project supervision and monitoring. These are tools for mitigating or offsetting the potential adverse environmental impacts resulting from various activities of the project. 120

The potential environmental impacts and proposed management associated with each stage of the project development are described here. The primary objective of this proposed environmental management and monitoring programme is to control environmental impacts to levels within acceptable standards, and to minimise possible impact on the community and the workforce of foreseeable risks during the construction and subsequent operation phases of the project. Also, it is very important to highlight here that such environmental mitigation measures shall be used in conjunction with good management practices and good engineering design, construction and operation practices. The EMP will be a working document that personnel on site need to both understand and undertake environmental management. It will be ensured personnel are in a position to adequately manage the environmental concerns of the site and effectively monitor for and mitigate impacts. 7.2 Mitigation Measures during Construction 7.2.1 Air Quality and Dust • All dusty materials shall be sprayed with water prior to any loading, unloading or transfer operation so as to maintain the dusty materials wet. 121
