Transforming your hospital<br />
<strong>The</strong> new <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>London</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> opened on 1st March 2012. Work is now<br />
underway to remove/refurbish the old hospital buildings we moved out <strong>of</strong>.<br />
Our priority is to ensure patient safety while this work takes place, but some<br />
disruption and noise is inevitable. We are sorry about this – please bear with us.<br />
If you are concerned about the effect <strong>of</strong> the building work on your care while<br />
you are in hospital, please tell a member <strong>of</strong> staff.<br />
Getting to <strong>The</strong> <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>London</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong><br />
If at all possible, please use public transport to journey to the hospital, or ask<br />
someone to drop you <strong>of</strong>f.<br />
Tube and train:<br />
<strong>The</strong> hospital is located very close to the Whitechapel underground station.<br />
It is served by the Hammersmith and City and District lines as well as the<br />
<strong>London</strong> Overground.<br />
Buses:<br />
<strong>The</strong> following buses stop outside or close to the hospital on Whitechapel Road:<br />
numbers 25, 106, 205, 253 and 254 as well as night buses N25, N106 and N253.<br />
Bus numbers 15, 115 and D3 stop close to the hospital on Commercial Road.<br />
Low-floor wheelchair accessible buses run on all routes serving<br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>London</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>.<br />
Drop-<strong>of</strong>f point for taxis and cars:<br />
Patient drop-<strong>of</strong>f for both the main hospital building and the Outpatients<br />
Department building is on Stepney Way.<br />
Pedestrian access:<br />
<strong>The</strong> main hospital building can be accessed from Whitechapel Road or<br />
Stepney Way. <strong>The</strong> Outpatients Department building can be accessed from<br />
Stepney Way.<br />
Parking:<br />
<strong>The</strong>re is no public parking at the hospital itself, but there is metered parking<br />
in surrounding streets.<br />
