but summer is upon us and up and down the country our local members’ groups, 

Visitor Centres, children’s clubs and reserves are hosting a variety of wildlife-themed 

events for visitors of all ages. 

Whether it be fairytales by firelight at the Scottish Dolphin Centre or 

insect forays in Ayrshire; bats at Craignethan Castle or a shingle island 

walk in Perthshire, there has never been a better time to get out 

and about in Scotland. Scottish Wildlife Trust members 

get in free to most of these events and there 

is a discount for children too.

challenge! It will take you into the furthest reaches 

of the wild woods and beyond. This is a drop in 

event; please arrive sometime between 2 and 3pm.

An evening searching for some of the animals 

that are active in the night at Jupiter. We will be 

heading off with bat detectors to look for these 

fascinating flying mammals. There will also be the 

chance to look for moths in a special trap and there 

may be other creatures out there too, from foxes

ever. Help out at this massive litter pick. There will 

also be the chance to make some crazy shoreside 

driftwood sculptures. We will be meeting at 

Blackness Castle. Please get in touch if you are 

unable to get there, some lifts may be available
