Two golfers will have the chance to join Assistant Head of School Rob Moore and his friend David Brown (TCC member) for 18 holes and<br />

lunch at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. This historic course is the oldest and arguably the most storied course in the United States.<br />

It has hosted 5 USGA Amateur Championships, 3 U.S. Opens (1913, 1963, 1988), and the Ryder Cup.<br />

Due to the playing of the U.S. Amateur Tournament the week of August 12–18, this round will need to be played in September or October<br />

30S Buzkashi<br />

Painted by LA student artist Mukhtar Amiry ’15, this 67" X 54" original oil painting depicts the game of Buzkashi, a Central Asian sport<br />

played in Mukhtar’s home country of Afghanistan. Buzkashi is often compared to polo. Both games are played between people on<br />

horseback and both involve propelling an object toward a goal. But, unlike polo which is played with a ball, Buzkashi is played with the<br />

carcass of a headless goat. Polo matches are played for fixed periods totaling about an hour; traditional Buzkashi can continue for days.<br />

Buzkashi is the national sport and a “passion” in Afghanistan. It is often played on Fridays and matches draw thousands of fans.<br />
