PRESIDENT'S LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
Ten Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen who have demonstrated talent and outstanding achievement in the areas
of leadership, citizenship, organization and communication.
CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to apply, all applicants must have:
1. Attained a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above and a minimum composite ACT score of 22
2. Been involved in three school clubs, organizations or activities, and held one or more offices in at least one club
or organization
3. Been involved in one or more community clubs, organizations or activities
4. Oklahoma residency status
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Scholarship applicants who meet the eligibility requirements must submit the following application materials:
1. Official high school transcript
2.Three letters of recommendation from:
High School Counselor/Principal
Club or Organization Advisor/Sponsor
Community leader, or other qualified member of the community
SELECTION PROCESS
All applicants who meet the specified requirements will be considered by the Scholarship Selection Committee.The Committee
will review the applications and recommend the top applicants to the Interviewing Committee. Only students who advance to
the interviewing process and are recommended by the Committee will be considered for awards.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The President's Leadership Class Scholarship is awarded to the top 10 applicants.The President's Leadership Scholarship is a
full-tuition waiver scholarship for 15 credit hours per semester plus up to $625 per semester for books and fees.The value of
the scholarship is subject to change.
RENEWABILITY REQUIREMENTS
The President's Leadership Scholarship is renewable for up to two years. In order to retain the scholarship each successive
semester, recipients must adhere to the following criteria:
• Remain active in at least two campus clubs and/or organizations
• Maintain a 3.0 grade point average each semester
• Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester
• Attend an off-campus leadership retreat
• Attend special lectures and leadership development presentations offered to members of the President’s Leadership Council
PRESIDENT'S LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
All Leadership Scholarship recipients will serve as members of the RSC President's Leadership Council (PLC).
Through the Council, students are exposed to a wide range of opportunities as well as to prominent leaders and professionals
throughout the state. Monthly trips and tours are also a vital part of the educational experience.
The many activities engaged in and hosted by the President's Leadership Council will help to form special friendships and
bonds that will last a lifetime.

THE PRESIDENT'S LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The President's Leadership Program is intended to support and advance the ongoing development of students
as leaders. Leadership requires knowledge of self, knowledge of organizations and how to develop them, a guiding
vision, and a passion that motivates one to act. Leaders must exhibit integrity and a willingness to take risks
and possess a sense of responsibility. The program is designed to cultivate these traits and outcomes in the student
participants.
The Rose State College President's Leadership Class gives a select class of students the opportunity to:
• Learn new skills and knowledge to help the campus as well as to facilitate future leadership
applications/opportunities
• Network with other students to form a leadership cohort for the College
• Mentor with campus administrators/leaders as well as current student leaders
• Learn about opportunities for service on and off campus
• Build traits and resources for the student's resume
The Program focuses on developing the following skills for participants:
• Personal/organizational goal setting
• Public speaking/presentation skills
• Understanding leadership styles and their implications
• Working effectively with others
• Resolving conflicts
• Developing an ethical and service-oriented leadership style

The Rose State logo is a visual symbol representing the college since 1972.The arrows represent an
interaction between the College and the communities it serves.The three golden arrows pointing outward
signify the College reaching to its surrounding communities. The solid blue arrows pointing
inward signify the communities’ interaction with the College.At the core of the logo is the student, representing
the philosophy of a student-centered college.
