PRESIDENT'S LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP<br />
Ten Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen who have demonstrated talent and outstanding achievement in the areas<br />
of leadership, citizenship, organization and communication.<br />
CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY<br />
To be eligible to apply, all applicants must have:<br />
1. Attained a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above and a minimum composite ACT score of 22<br />
2. Been involved in three school clubs, organizations or activities, and held one or more offices in at least one club<br />
or organization<br />
3. Been involved in one or more community clubs, organizations or activities<br />
4. Oklahoma residency status<br />
APPLICATION PROCEDURE<br />
Scholarship applicants who meet the eligibility requirements must submit the following application materials:<br />
1. Official high school transcript<br />
2.Three letters of recommendation from:<br />
High School Counselor/Principal<br />
Club or Organization Advisor/Sponsor<br />
Community leader, or other qualified member of the community<br />
SELECTION PROCESS<br />
All applicants who meet the specified requirements will be considered by the Scholarship Selection Committee.The Committee<br />
will review the applications and recommend the top applicants to the Interviewing Committee. Only students who advance to<br />
the interviewing process and are recommended by the Committee will be considered for awards.<br />
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD<br />
The President's Leadership Class Scholarship is awarded to the top 10 applicants.The President's Leadership Scholarship is a<br />
full-tuition waiver scholarship for 15 credit hours per semester plus up to $625 per semester for books and fees.The value of<br />
the scholarship is subject to change.<br />
RENEWABILITY REQUIREMENTS<br />
The President's Leadership Scholarship is renewable for up to two years. In order to retain the scholarship each successive<br />
semester, recipients must adhere to the following criteria:<br />
• Remain active in at least two campus clubs and/or organizations<br />
• Maintain a 3.0 grade point average each semester<br />
• Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester<br />
• Attend an off-campus leadership retreat<br />
• Attend special lectures and leadership development presentations offered to members of the President’s Leadership Council<br />
PRESIDENT'S LEADERSHIP COUNCIL<br />
All Leadership Scholarship recipients will serve as members of the RSC President's Leadership Council (PLC).<br />
Through the Council, students are exposed to a wide range of opportunities as well as to prominent leaders and professionals<br />
throughout the state. Monthly trips and tours are also a vital part of the educational experience.<br />
The many activities engaged in and hosted by the President's Leadership Council will help to form special friendships and<br />
bonds that will last a lifetime.<br />

THE PRESIDENT'S LEADERSHIP PROGRAM<br />
The President's Leadership Program is intended to support and advance the ongoing development of students<br />
as leaders. Leadership requires knowledge of self, knowledge of organizations and how to develop them, a guiding<br />
vision, and a passion that motivates one to act. Leaders must exhibit integrity and a willingness to take risks<br />
and possess a sense of responsibility. The program is designed to cultivate these traits and outcomes in the student<br />
participants.<br />
The <strong>Rose</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>College</strong> President's Leadership Class gives a select class of students the opportunity to:<br />
• Learn new skills and knowledge to help the campus as well as to facilitate future leadership<br />
applications/opportunities<br />
• Network with other students to form a leadership cohort for the <strong>College</strong><br />
• Mentor with campus administrators/leaders as well as current student leaders<br />
• Learn about opportunities for service on and off campus<br />
• Build traits and resources for the student's resume<br />
The Program focuses on developing the following skills for participants:<br />
• Personal/organizational goal setting<br />
• Public speaking/presentation skills<br />
• Understanding leadership styles and their implications<br />
• Working effectively with others<br />
• Resolving conflicts<br />
• Developing an ethical and service-oriented leadership style
