Footlocker Activities Expand The demand for the Dare to Dream team has drastically increased along with the request for footlocker activities. The team has acquired several grants for the purchase of enrichment equipment, supplies, footlocker activities and teacher workshops. The Boeing Corporation awarded a grant to the division to conduct eight science, math and engineering workshops to K-12 teachers. Some of these purchases also will enhance RSC courses, such as the StarLab portable planetarium. Not only will it enhance the educational experience of the area public school students, but RSC students may experience enhancement in the areas of astronomy, meteorology, geology, cell biology and genetics. Rose State College employees involved in the Dare to Dream team are: (faculty) Steve Carano, Chad Ellington, Jim Gilbert, Heidi Heilhecker, Dan Ratcliff and Linda Tucker; (administrators) Jamie Graham and Dawcett Middleton; and (support staff) Kesha Dyas, Stephen Lynch and Jennifer Khoh. Peer Educators Take Training More than 20 students participated in the HIV Peer Educators program. In addition to 20 hours of training and certification, students do two presentations each, four hours of peer education each and a display within the division. Rose State College is the only college in Oklahoma offering a course specific to HIV/AIDS education.
