ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
CLEANING AND INSPECTION
All parts must be inspected and be free of material defects, dirt, scratches or any
foreign material.
All parts must be cleaned with a suitable cleaning solvent and all holes and passages
blown out with dry, clean, compressed air.
After cleaning and inspection, all parts must be covered with a light film of oil and protected
from dirt and moisture. Excessive handling of internal parts should be avoided
prior to assembly.
During assembly, lapped and ground surfaces must be lubricated with clean oil and
protected from nicks or surface damage.
DRIVE SHAFT AND BEARING
ASSEMBLY
See figure 1. Slide the bearing (2) over the short end of the shaft and seat against the
shoulder. Support only the inner race of the bearing and press on the long end of the
shaft, to install bearing.
Do not use excessive force. Use extreme care passing the ring over the seal surface.
Install the retaining ring (3) in the groove. Be sure that the ring is fully seated.
