Foundation<br />

The Order of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) is pleased to offer 22<br />

scholarships totaling $18,000 to qualified students of Greek descent or whose parents are members of<br />

AHEPA. Must be of Greek descent OR be a member of AHEPA (or have a parent who is a member of<br />

AHEPA). Must have a GPA of 3.0. Current Seniors are not eligible. Previous monetary winners are not<br />

<strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Journalism<br />

<strong>Scholarship</strong>s<br />

Northern Illinois <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Journalism <strong>Scholarship</strong>s recognize outstanding achievement by high school<br />

students in the field of print and/or online journalism. Winners will receive cash scholarships from the<br />

Northern Illinois Newspaper Association. The scholarship awards will be presented to high school seniors<br />

who demonstrate the standards of honesty, integrity, attention to detail, hard work, creativity, and an<br />

understanding and commitment to quality community journalism. Students may be editors, writers,<br />

photographers, managers, marketing or advertising representatives or graphic designers at high school<br />

newspapers or professional news publications. All applicants should show intent to attend college as a<br />

journalism or communications major with an emphasis on print and/or online journalism. Students must<br />

attend high school within the northern Illinois region. The primary counties include Boone, Bureau, Carroll,<br />

Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Henry, Jo Daviess, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Knox, Lake, LaSalle, Lee,<br />

Marshall, McHenry, Mercer, Ogle, Putnam, Rock Island, Stephenson, Whiteside, Will and Winnebago. The<br />

Italian Americans<br />

Women's Division JCCIA for female students: Several scholarship awards of $2,000 each to female<br />

students of Italian ancestry who have been accepted into college in the fall of <strong>2012</strong>. One parent must be<br />

of Italian ancestry. Deadline for applications is March 15, <strong>2012</strong>. Applications can be found in the PPS<br />

Scholars Award<br />

College of DuPage is awarding 50 full-tuition scholarships to <strong>2012</strong> District 502 high school graduates<br />

who meet the selection criteria. To be considered for the award, students must meet the following criteria:<br />

A weighted or unweighted high school GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale (4.75/5.0) on a seventh semester high<br />

school transcripts or a 27 ACT composite test score; have applied for admission to College of DuPage;<br />

Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is preferred. The results should be<br />
