*** NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS FRIDAY, 9/20***
***ALL BUILDINGS AND BOE OFFICE CLOSED ON 9/20***
Superintendent’s Message
John P. Kronour, PhD.
Students have a day off from school on Friday and all buildings are closed to the
public for an important in-service training program. Teachers will focus on OTES,
the new Ohio Teacher Evaluation System. Each educator will map out a Professional
Growth Plan designed to accelerate and continue teacher growth through professional
development. They also will work collaboratively to establish SLOs or Student
Learning Objectives. These are measureable, long-term academic growth targets for
students or groups of students. In addition, according to the state, it demonstrates a
teacher’s impact on learning. This system is designed to provide teachers positive
feedback and support to become even better at what they do and make a difference for students.
An Eye-Opening Experience
Broadway Elementary students got a lesson in eye health and safety.
Renee Rambeau OD, a local optometrist and Tippecanoe High School
graduate, presented Realeyes. In the 45-minute presentation, a detective
engages students to solve an optical illusion mystery using a "case
packet." Concepts presented include eye safety, the vision process,
symptoms of eye disorders and the importance of eye exams. In the photo
it), put the pressure on their opponents and did not fold during critical situations. Pictured above is the winning
team. Front row from left to right: Kara Trimbach, Hannah Budding, Jess Walland, Emily Layman, Katherine
Shirley, Sidney Roemke. Back row standing up from left to right: Head Coach Howard Garcia, Halee Printz,
