PRAYER OF INVOCATION
The powers of earth may lock up the doors,
but the word of the Lord will not be fettered away.
Earthquakes will shake foundations
and chains will fall to the ground.
The powers of the earth may blind our eyes to truth,
but the word of the Lord will not be weakened.
The powers of the earth may stoke furnaces of fear,
but the word of the Lord will not be consumed.

Receiving the Sacrament of Baptism this morning is Nicholas Michael
“Cole” Seitzinger, born December 16, 2012. Nicholas is the son of
Donald and Robyn (Medeiros) Seitzinger of Manchester, MA.
Sponsors are Mary M. Caouette (Godmother) and Jonathan Pinelli
(Godfather).
Grandparents are Katherine Medeiros, Ronald Medeiros, Nancy
Seitzinger Yardley (deceased) and Donald Seitzinger.
The flowers on the altar are given by Don & Robyn Seitzinger in
celebration of Nicholas Michael "Cole's " baptism this morning.
The flowers in front of the pulpit are in loving memory of Elizabeth
Henderson.
The greeters and lay readers are Pam & Chip Price.
The Deacons are Eleanor Harris and Jeff Bodmer-Turner.
The Sexton is Rachael Gallagher.

YOUTH GROUP
Confirmation Class Registration
What is Church, anyway? Why do we take communion? The
Confirmation Class will answer questions like these and more. Students
in 9th grade and up who have not gone through a Confirmation program
may register. The First Parish Church Confirmation Class will start on
Sunday, Oct. 20. Questions? Contact Jen Powers or Emelia Attridge

What better way to have a child learn and remember their special
relationship with God than to have them sing.
JUNIOR CHOIR is for children in Grades 2-5 and is a wonderful
opportunity for your child. Wednesdays 6:00-6:45 PM in the Chapel

The FPC Christmas Fair is on the
horizon, and the First Parish elves are
already hard at work!

The next evening workshop is Tues, Oct.22 at 6:30pm.
Balsam Tree workshop with Debbie DiGiovanni, Thursday Nov.7 at
6:30 - limited to 7. Please call or email Barbara Smith if you would like
to attend.
We need your help with:
· White Elephant Room items – keep us in mind during your summer
clean-outs.
· Children’s White Elephant Room items.
· Books – clear those bookshelves and old DVD’S (no tapes, please.)
· Jewelry- for the jewelry table.

The annual First Parish Church Harvest Food Drive
helps our neighbors who are struggling to feed their
families. All foods contributed to pantries serving the
local community.
The Missions Committee, High School & Solace
Youth Group, and Sunday School are all cooperating
in this important effort. We will be collecting items
Please donate foods in non-breakable containers or sturdy packaging.
We hope to collect items such as canned fruits and vegetables, canned
fish or meat, soups, meals in a can (beef stew, Spaghetti O's, etc.) peanut
butter, jelly, coffee and tea, boxed rice, pilaf and couscous, dry pasta,
cereal...
All nutritious foods and staples will be gratefully received!
Items can be dropped in the Chapel conference room, brought to Sunday
school or Youth Group or left in the Narthex.
