ename
Changes the name of a file. You cannot use the rename command to rename files across
drives or to move files to a different directory location.
Syntax
rename [][]
Parameters
Example:
Specifies the drive on which you want to rename the specified
file.
Specifies the location of the file to be renamed. The maximum
length of any single path is determined by the file system.
Specifies the name of the file you want to rename.
Specifies the new name for the file. You cannot specify a new
drive or path.
rename c:\test\test.txt test1.txt
rmdir
Deletes (removes) a directory.
Syntax
rmdir []
Parameters
Specifies the drive on which you want to delete the specified
directory.
Specifies the name and location of the directory to be deleted.
The maximum length of any single path is determined by
the file system.
