Preventive Maintenance 4.2.4. Signal Operational Test The Signal Operational Test verifies the visibility of the signal. If an indication is not met, proceed to Troubleshooting, Section 5. This operational test that should be performed when: • a signal malfunction is suspected • the signal or one of its components has been repaired • the signal or one of its components has been replaced WARNING DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO AN ILLUMINATED LAMP AT CLOSE RANGE. Signal Operational Test Procedure Step Action 1 Call each signal aspect and verify the correct LED module is lit. 2 From a position 300 feet in approach to the signal and six feet over the top of the running rail, view signal at stop.
