A GROUP of girls from Halsall St Cuthbert’s<br />
CE Primary School are West Lancashire<br />
Cross Country champions.<br />
At the end of October, schools across West<br />
Lancashire took part in a composite relay,<br />
where children work as a team to run a cross<br />
country course, and Halsall St Cuthbert’s<br />
won the whole event.<br />
Eleanor Crane, year 4/5 class teacher and<br />
PE co–ordinator at Halsall St Cuthbert’s said<br />
children of the small school trained really<br />
hard for this event.<br />

THOUSANDS of pounds worth of jewellery<br />
was taken from a home in Aughton during a<br />
burglary.<br />
Lancashire Constabulary said that raiders<br />
smashed their way through the upstairs<br />
balcony door of a home on Butchers Lane at<br />
around 8.15pm on Saturday night (November<br />
3), and searched the bedrooms of the property.<br />
The burglars took a gold Rolex watch with a<br />
diamond encrusted face, worth £5,000, a<br />
yellow gold ring encrusted with four<br />
diamonds, worth £2,000, and £600 in cash.<br />
They also took an Apple iPad tablet, worth<br />
£250.<br />
