A CHARITY that supports young people with<br />
epilepsy is seeking nominations from West<br />
Lancashire for its first ever <strong>Champion</strong>s<br />
Awards 2013.<br />
Young Epilepsy is launching the awards to<br />
recognise the contribution made by<br />
individuals and organisations towards<br />
improving the lives of young people living<br />
with the condition.<br />
Anyone can nominate an Epilepsy<br />
<strong>Champion</strong> and the charity is encouraging<br />
the people of West Lancashire to take part.<br />
The 2012 Olympic captain of the Great<br />
Britain Athletics Team, Dai Greene, who has<br />
epilepsy and is backing the awards, said:<br />
“Young Epilepsy <strong>Champion</strong>s Awards will<br />
recognise the outstanding contribution that<br />
many individuals and organisations from<br />
the North West make towards improving the<br />
lives of young people living with epilepsy.<br />
“Epilepsy can have far reaching<br />
consequences, not just for the young person<br />
that has it, but also their families and carers.<br />
Everyone living with epilepsy is supported<br />
by at least one Epilepsy <strong>Champion</strong>; it may be<br />
a family member, a nurse, a doctor, a<br />
teacher or a business and they deserve our<br />
recognition and thanks.”<br />
