The Polish Volvox web site (http://www.sfn.edu.pl/volvox)<br />

now serves 21 practical protocols, Polish version <strong>of</strong> ‘The<br />

Cell World’ model animation, two text based activities, one<br />

presentation, one educational board game and a set <strong>of</strong> 200<br />

educational images.<br />

Cooperation with an European journal for teachers<br />

“Science in School”<br />

CIBE is a Polish distributor <strong>of</strong> “Science in School”, freeavailable<br />

journal for European science teachers. The Journal<br />

aims to promote inspiring science teaching by encouraging<br />

communication between teachers, scientists, and everyone<br />

else involved in European science education. It addresses<br />

science teaching both across Europe and across disciplines:<br />

highlighting the best in teaching and cutting-edge research.<br />

It covers not only biology, physics and chemistry, but also<br />

mathematics, earth sciences, engineering and medicine,<br />

focusing on interdisciplinary work. The contents include<br />

teaching materials; cutting-edge science; education projects;<br />

interviews with young scientists and inspiring teachers;<br />

European education news; reviews <strong>of</strong> books and other<br />

resources; and announcements about European events for<br />

teachers. A printed English version <strong>of</strong> the journal is freely<br />

available as well as an on-line version, where articles are<br />

published in several European languages. CIBE translated into<br />

Polish some <strong>of</strong> the biology-based articles which are published<br />

on the web site http://www.scienceinschool.org/polish.<br />
