the1"(25mm)screws(B)provided.Note:Installscrewanchorsif<br />

4. Alignslottedopeningsonbackofcontrollerhousing(C)withrails<br />
onthemountingbracket(D).Gentlyslidethecontrollerdowninto<br />
positiononthebracket.<br />
5. Securecontrollerinplacebyinstallingascrewthroughthelower<br />

2. Atthevalves,attachthecommonwiretoeithersolenoidwireofthe<br />
valve.Thisismostcommonlythewhitecoloredwire.Attacha<br />
separatecontrolwiretotheremainingsolenoidwireandmakea<br />
noteofthecolorcorrespondingtoeachvalveandthewatering<br />

6. Securethewhitevalvecommonwiretothescrewontheterminal<br />
markedC.Withthevalvecommonwireconnected,connectthe<br />
color-codedwiresfromthevalvestotheirappropriatestation<br />

7. Routetransformercablethroughthesmallholeinthebottomofthe<br />

Therearethreemaincomponentsthatareinvolvedwithallautomatic<br />
sprinklersystemsthataremadetoday.Theyarethecontroller,valves,<br />
andthesprinklers.<br />
Thecontrolleriswhatmakesthewholesystemoperateefficiently.<br />
Itistechnicallythebrainoftheentiresystem,instructingthevalves<br />
whentosupplywatertothesprinklersandforhowlongtodoso.The<br />
sprinklers,inturn,willdirectthewatertowardsthesurroundingplants<br />
andlawn.<br />
Thevalvecontrolsagroupofsprinklerscalledawateringstation.These<br />
stationsarelaidoutinafashionaccordingtothetypeofplantlifethat<br />
existsthere,thelocationsoftheplants,andthemaximumamountof<br />
waterthatcanbepumpedtothelocation.Eachvalveisconnectedvia<br />
wiretotheterminalstripareainsideofthecontroller.Herethewireis<br />
connectedtoanumberthatcorrespondstothevalve'sstationnumber.<br />
Thecontrollerwilloperatethevalvesinorder,onlyoneatatime.When<br />
avalvehascompletedit’swatering;itwillswitchtothenextstationthat<br />
hasbeenprogrammed.Thisprocessiscalledthewateringcycle.The<br />
informationpertainingtothewateringtimesoftheindividualstations<br />
andhowoftenwateringoccursiscalledaprogram.
CREATINGAWATERINGSCHEDULE...................................................................................<br />
Formostconsumers,itismucheasiertoplanyourspecificwatering<br />
scheduleontopaperbeforeactuallyprogrammingtheinformation<br />
intothecontroller.It’salsohandytohaveawrittenrecordofyour<br />
programminginformationforeasyreference.<br />
Therearesomeguidelinesthatshouldbefollowedwhendetermining<br />
whenandhowlongtowater.Thesefactorsarethesoiltype,thepart<br />
ofthelandscapebeingwatered,weatherconditions,andthetypesof<br />
sprinklersbeingused.Sincetherearesomanydifferentvariablesthat<br />
candetermineyourindividualwateringschedule,itisimpossibletogive<br />
anexactscheduletofollow.However,wehaveincludedsomeguidelines<br />
tohelpyougetstarted.<br />
NOTE:Itisusuallygoodtowateroneortwohours<br />
beforesunrise.Waterpressurewillbeatoptimum<br />
levelsduringtheearlymorningandthewatercan<br />
soakintotherootsoftheplantswhileevaporationis<br />
minimal.Formostplants,wateringduringmiddayor<br />
intheeveningmaycauseplantdamageorpossiblymildew.<br />
NOTE:Keepaneyeoutforevidenceofunder-oroverwatering.Over-wateringismostcommonlyindicated<br />
bypoolsofwaterthattakealongtimetosoakin<br />
orevaporate,whileunder-wateredlandscapes<br />
willshowsignsofdiscoloringanddryness.Make<br />
programmingchangesimmediatelywhenevidence<br />

HOWTOFILLOUTTHEWATERINGSCHEDULEFORM....................................................<br />
Besuretouseapencilwhenfillingoutthisform.Byusingtheincluded<br />
exampleandtheinformationbelow,youshouldhavealltheinformation<br />
youneedtoconstructyourpersonalwaterschedule.<br />
StationNumberandLocation–Identifythestationnumber,location<br />
andthetypeofplantthatisbeingwatered.<br />
WateringDay–Identifywhetheryouwanttouseacalendardayoran<br />
oddorevendayschedule.Foracalendardayschedulecirclethedayof<br />
theweekinwhichwateringisdesired.Foraoddorevendayschedule,<br />
simplymarkthecorrespondingbox.<br />
ProgramStartTimes–Indicatethetimeofdaythattheprogramwill<br />
begin.Eachprogramcanhave1to4starttimes.However,onestarttime<br />
canrunanentireprogram.<br />
StationRunTime–Indicatetheruntime(1to99minutes)foreach<br />
station.Write“OFF”foranystationthatyoudonotwanttooperatein<br />
theprogram.<br />

andthenautomaticallyshutoff.Thecontrollerwillautomatically<br />
advancetostation2sprinklers.Thesesprinklerswillalsorunfor<br />
15minutesandthenshutoff.Then,wateringonstation3willbegin<br />
automatically.Thesprinklerswillturnonfor20minutesandshutoff<br />
automatically.Sincenotimeswereprogrammedforstations4,5and6,<br />

requiredtorunthethreedifferentstations.Thecontrollerautomatically<br />
movestothenextstationwithouttheneedforadditionalstarttimes.<br />
Werealizethatmanyconsumerswillhavevariationsintheirplantwatering<br />
needs,soat<strong>Hunter</strong>weequippedthe<strong>SRC</strong><strong>Plus</strong>withthreedifferent<br />
programsA,B,andC.Theseprogramsarecompletelyindependentof<br />
eachotherandgiveyoutheabilitytohavethreecoexistingtimersin<br />
