Presidential Address
TMOD Address
It was TM Nawaf’s first attempt as Toastmasters of
the Day at FOY and he brilliantly conducted the
meeting. Not only we got to know our fairly new
member better but we got some insightful tips on
perseverance. TM Nawaf educated, enlightened
and entertained us during the meeting. Yes
entertained as the TMOD sprinkled humor
throughout. TM Nawaf is an Artist and surely
does have an Artistic approach to life!
The acting SAA, TM Biju, started the meeting almost
right on time. The acting SAA read out the
Toastmasters Mission and asked the audience to put
their mobile phones on silence. The acting SAA
informed about the taboo topics to be avoided
during the meeting. TM Biju thanked TM Dr.
Shankar for the venue and invited the President on
stage.
After an acting SAA, we had an acting President,
TM Shanil, our Immediate Past President. TM Shanil
felt at home on the stage remembering his time as a
President. Every time, the IPP used to share a story
with a valuable message for us to take home. TM
Shanil encouraged the members to deliver speeches.
Speeches are the heart and soul of any TM Meeting
and the struggle of FOY finding speakers is
alarming. Yalla members, get your scripts ready! TM
Shanil felt pride in announcing the Toastmasters of
the day, TM Nawaf!

Word Master
TM Anuradha from Burj TMC was our Word Master.
TM Anuradha is the better half of one of our past
Presidents, TM Mohan Kamath, and it is a delight to
listen to this new TM. The word introduced was OTIOSE
which means futile, useless, ineffective. The Word
Master gave few examples of the usage and
confidently conducted a brief round robin. Well done
TM Anuradha!
Prepared Speech Session
Project 9: Inspire your audience TM Chandrashekar
‘Someone is waiting for you’
TM Chandrashekar cares so much of the FOY members that he
wants all of us to stay safe and for this reason persuaded us
that safety is key and we are responsible to keep ourselves
and others safe. TM Chandrashekar shared a touching story
of his colleage who got injured at work. Accidents can surely
happen and will always happen but we do have a role in
preventing and protecting ourselves. Our President is getting
closer to being a Competent Communicator and we wish to
hear his P10 very soon.
Project 1: Entertaining Manual TM Mohan Kamath
‘Question Mark!’
TM Mohan’s project was meant to entertain us and the
speaker surely did! The speaker had us smiling, laughing and
wondering what was coming next… The speech had all the
elements of an entertaining speech. The speaker had
characters in his speech that we were all familiar with hence
connected us more to his speech. Anecdotes, expressions, and
body language made this speech memorable. Looking
forward to hearing more speeches from this manual.

Speech Evaluation
Evaluation Speech #1 by TM Saju
Evaluation Speech #2 by TM Aravind
TM Saju, our evaluation Champion, had all the ingredients of a
winning evaluation and followed the guidance of our Area
Governor’s session on Evaluation to the T. The evaluator was
impressed by the speech content and confirmed that the speaker met
the speech objectives. A suggestion to the speaker was to have a
call to action and add more humor to the speech.
One champion as evaluator was not enough so we had the Champ
of the Champs (wining two categories at the Area) evaluating TM
Mohan’s speech. TM Aravind was happily surprised by the project
delivered by TM Mohan which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Closing Session
An overdue comeback on stage of
the eloquent TM Reena as our
General Evaluator. We know TM
Reena always has a lot to write
and a lot to speak about (you can
ask TM George) but this time TM
Reena ensured not to go overtime.
TM Reena enjoyed the meeting and appreciated the efforts
of all role players. An area of improvement for the club is to
make sure to get the role players in advance so that the
agenda can be released well in advance.

Grammarian Report
And here comes the English
Mastro, the well-spoken TM
Sonali as Grammarian. The
Grammarian pointed out the
great usage of language and
the areas of improvement. As
we Yogis love to learn and TM
Sonali loves to teach, we had a
special session on
‘Euphemism’… Euphemism can
be used to avoid words to be
found rude i.e. a polite way to
give a message, portray a
negative message and so on.
