My PASSION Magazine

Everyone has a passion. Everyone has a story. Everyone has a voice. And everyone wants to be heard. Because of this, “My Passion Magazine” was birthed. Each article that is written on these pages are articles from the heart. Stories that needed to be heard. Stories that will inspire you. Stories that will make you laugh, but there may be some a little sad. Some will add a little understanding to your life that you may not have had before. Some may add a few calories to your body but some will discuss how to get rid of them. All in all they are stories of someone’s passion. Each writer has contributed these articles so that others will be encouraged. I want to thank each writer for their hard work in putting their passion on paper. Everyone has a passion. My Passion - Issue 1 - April 2015 | 21 Wellness Have you ever been driving to a destination using your GPS and you realize that it has taken you around in circles? Or you're driving your car and notice that the wheels are not balanced? These scenarios can be related to your well-being or "Wellness Wheel" of life. You could have a destination but it's hard to get there with obstacles in the way. Sometimes, wellness is thought of to be only one component, such as mental or physical health. The truth is, there are at least seven components that make up your wheel. Without knowing what areas you need to focus on, it would be harder to bring your wheel into balance. What do you do when you find yourself in that situation? I'm glad you asked! You put together a wellness plan and put your wheel into alignment. The wellness wheels are aspects of who we are and help to complete us. Components of the wheel are: 1. Social 2. Physical 3. Financial 4. Occupational 5. Mental 6. Spiritual Here are some tips that can help you align and balance your wellness wheel: 1) Focus on the whole being and not just one area. Be sure to do an assessment of what component of the wheel you should focus on, but don’t neglect the others. That's when you can become out of balance. 2) Become aware of where you are. There's nothing more frustrating than not knowing where you are or which direction you're headed. In your plan, set the goals you want to achieve. 3) Channel your energy in the right direction. Knowing the truth about the area(s) you need to work on will help move you into the right direction towards complete well-being. A great tool that I have found to do a life assessment is found at www.thecompoundeffect.com by Darren Hardy, publisher of Success Magazine. Creating balance to your wellness wheel will help your journey in life become exciting and your goals will seem more achievable! Until next time, Be Well and Stay Balanced!
