"But one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and
straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on
toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of
God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14.
Over the years serving in a pastoral
position, I came to a conclusion that
everyone has some type of passion,
dream or, as we in the religious arena
call it, “calling” upon their lives.
They spend all of their lives not
living up to their potential. Why?
Because they do not know how to
step out into their passion or their
dreams in fear that they will fail or
be discouraged.
I know how that feels because I was
that person. I had no one to share
my thoughts and desires much less
get the encouragement that I was
seeking. I had this passion burning
inside of me, but I didn’t know what
to do with it. I had dreams (and still
do) that were larger than I could
comprehend. It took years for me
to understand how the process to
progression really worked. I knew
plenty of people that I could talk to,
but no one who really understood.
They were listening with their head
and not their heart.
Thus, Ladies of Grace International
became a reality. I knew if I needed
encouragement, how many others
needed the same.
Ladies of Grace International is an
organization of women who are
listening with their heart and head.
It is an organization of women working
together to help each other discover
and develop their dreams.
Some women are already movers and
shakers and they are helping others
to become confident women.
Some women have already become
active in entrepreneurship, teaching,
serving, preaching and some are
finding their way. But, we all need
encouragement. Most importantly,
women need to know the right way
to develop their dreams.
Even though women are full of zeal,
vitality, and excitement they still
need support. Women need to discover
themselves. They need to know
who they are. They need to believe
in themselves and what God has
called them to do. They need to be
confident and unstoppable women of
God.
I love speaking at conferences to
hundreds of women, or speaking in
small Bible studies or even speaking
to one-on-one regarding their dreams
and passion. I like to call myself “a
curtain puller.” Do I enjoy being out
on stage and speaking? You bet I
do. But I get so much satisfaction
watching someone that I have helped
or encouraged to fulfill their dreams
and passions. It is most rewarding.
When I was writing my book, Ladies
of Grace, I became excited each time
my research took me into the life of
another lady who was fulfilling her
destiny. Ladies of the Bible, ladies
of the centuries and the ladies of this
day and age are all paving the way
for the ladies of the future.
We are a force to be reckoned with.
We must maintain our femininity,
never forgetting that we are women
that will not give up but keep pressing
forward to what lies ahead.
