Central <strong>Missouri</strong> <strong>Optometric</strong> Society<br />

The Central <strong>Missouri</strong> <strong>Optometric</strong> Society met in February at Chris McD’s Restaurant in<br />
Columbia. The program was sponsored by Inspire Pharmaceuticals and the featured lecturer<br />
was Dr. Lynsey Bigheart from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Those in attendance shared a great meal<br />
and took home some useful clinical pearls!<br />
The COS did not meet in March, but plans on providing a warm reception for our MOA<br />
president during his visit at 6:30pm on <strong>April</strong> 27 at Jina Yoos in Columbia. All MOA and COS<br />
members are invited to attend the MOA Presidential meeting.<br />
Greater Ozark <strong>Optometric</strong> Society<br />

At our last meeting held in February, we were pleased to host Dr. Ryan Powell, MOA<br />
President, and Dr. LeeAnn Barrett, MOA Executive Director, for our GOOS Presidential visit.<br />
We are planning our next meeting in late May and hope to announce a corporate sponsor<br />
for the meeting. All MOA and GOOS Society members are invited to attend.<br />
Kansas City <strong>Optometric</strong> Society<br />

At the beginning of <strong>April</strong>, we had a wonderful presentation by Dr. Brett King concerning<br />
glaucoma.<br />
In May, Dr. John Gelvin will be providing CE, and in June, we will have our annual “thank<br />
you” BBQ for the legislature.<br />
Northeast <strong>Optometric</strong> Society<br />

The NEOS met on February 25 at Los Jimadores Mexican Restaurant in Macon, MO.<br />
We discussed the upcoming elections, and members volunteered to be keypersons to<br />
the candidates for the $50 in 2-day campaign. Other topics discussed included Board<br />
Certification, EMRs and the current Medicare situation.<br />
The NEOS also held a society meeting on <strong>April</strong> 7 at the Pear Tree in Bevier. Guests were MOA<br />
President, Dr. Ryan Powell, and MOA Executive Director, Dr. Lee Ann Barrett. They updated us<br />
on the current events in Jefferson City and Washington DC.<br />
