DISCOVER BROADSTAIRS 

Broadstairs has retained the serene charm of a traditional seaside town yet it has a wealth 

of activities throughout the year. 

The High Street, and surrounding roads, offer a diverse range of independent shops: 

designer frocks and jewellery; gifts and cards; ‘proper’ greengrocers, butchers, bakers 

and probably, candle stick makers. Three micro-pubs, an independent off-licence, 

delicatessen and such a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants – you could eat your 

way around the world in eighty days in Broadstairs! 

Cultural opportunities encompass art and literature, archaeology and geography, music 

and dance – it is all to be explored and discovered in Broadstairs. Whether you are a 

visitor discovering the town for the first time or fortunate to be a resident, there is so much 

to do whatever the month. 

Enjoy our many festivals that take place throughout the year. Music offerings included 

Blues Bash (February) and Folk Week (August); foodies flock for the Food Festivals 

(Easter and October). Literature and heritage are explored during Dickens Week (June) 

and other events provided by the Broadstairs Victorians. And of course, Broadstairs Water 

Gala – the town’s oldest event, with a full day of sea and beach based activities.

NEIGHBOURHOOD 

ENGAGEMENT MEETINGS 

IN BROADSTAIRS 

Neighbourhood engagement meetings will be held four times per 

year in the Thanet East area. The plan is to hold them in different 

locations, for example, central Broadstairs and St Peter’s, on a 

rotation basis. They replace the PACT meetings. 

NEMs enable residents to meet representatives of Kent Police, 

TDC Community Safety Officers and local councillors to discuss 

any concerns they may have about community safety in the 

CT10 area. 

Details of the meetings will be displayed on posters in 

Town Council display cases and via social media.
