Following EPA’s Comprehensive Procurement <strong>Guide</strong>lines (CPG) play yard<br />

equipment and surfacing should be constructed of 100% recycled content<br />

including 90-100% post consumer plastic or 50-75% post consumer plastic<br />

composites. (See Appendix G)<br />

Safety guidelines regarding playground equipment shall be followed. Refer<br />

to ASTM F1487-F15.29 (Juvenile Products), F1004 Gates and Enclosures,<br />

ASTM 1487-95, PS 83-97, F1292 and the Consumer Product Safety<br />

Commission requirements.<br />

� Platforms/lofts.<br />

CHAPTER 8: FURNISHINGS AND EQUIPMENT<br />

8.3 Furniture and Equipment<br />

List<br />

<strong>The</strong> following furnishings and equipment may be supplied to GSA child<br />

care centers as part of the baseline provisions. Provisions vary according<br />

to center size, ages served, and the amount of built-in equipment provided,<br />

and may be more or less than is listed below. Equipment for each classroom<br />

and other individual spaces within the center are listed separately. Quantities<br />

are stated in a ratio of equipment per child or in total number per room as<br />

noted.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Regional <strong>Child</strong> <strong>Care</strong> Coordinator must approve requests for items to<br />

be purchased by GSA. Some of the provisions below will be provided on a<br />

one-time, start-up basis. GSA Regional fire protection engineers shall be<br />

consulted if there is any question about the flammability of upholstered<br />

furniture.<br />
